Kelly Connole

From 9 am-1 pm on Saturday, July 26, drop into the Red Wing Arts Clay & Creative Center for a hands-on, clay hand-building experience led by Kelly Connole! Whether you're new to working with clay or just want to explore your creativity in a relaxed setting, this is a great opportunity to get your hands messy and try something new.

Do you have a story to tell, but words can’t quite capture your ideas? Visual language is a powerful way to communicate. In this workshop, Kelly will guide participants in using simple press molds to create intimate wall pieces in clay.

All materials are provided, and no experience is necessary. Participants will have access to basic tools, creative guidance, and plenty of inspiration to bring their ideas to life through clay. Stay as long as your schedule allows.

Kelly Connole is a fiscal year 2025 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

Kelly Connole is a Professor of Art at Carleton College in Northfield, MN.  She earned her  MFA from San Francisco State University and her BFA from University of Montana. Her work combines the tactile nature of clay with images of memories and emotions addressing relationships within environments: natural and constructed, human and animal.  Her work has been exhibited in numerous galleries across the country.  She is the recipient of many awards including a McKnight Residency, a Jerome Project Grant, a Minnesota State Arts Board Grant, and McKnight Fellowships in 2014 and 2019.
